Rise n Shine, It's Trout Slayin Time! (1-8-10)

I havent been able to fish much lately because of the holidays so I was very excited to get back out on the waters of my favorite lake, the Vine!
I arrived around 4:30am and was only the 7th car in line and the 1st boat. :Dancing Banana: I visited the tackle shop to say my good mornings when the pedestrian gate opened and to try and get some insider tips on how the fishings been lately. When the main gates opened I promptly launched my boat and hit the water.

I started out trolling various lures but forgot my New Bite-On Garlic scents I brought to test out. :EyePop: I made my way down the West Shore and back towards Trout Island Mid-Lake for nothing. Figuring it was still to dark to troll I headed back in for some breakfast (my usual the Fisherman's Special) from the Vine Cafe. On my way back in I shot this pic of another beautiful Vine sunrise.

Before heading back out I made sure to stop by my van and grab my New Bite-On Scents I brought to test out. Glad I didn't forget this time around because soon after I headed back out I was fighting my 1st fish of the day!

After another lap around the lake I landed my 2nd fish of the day again caught on a Rapala CD05 dipped in the New Bite-On Garlic Crimson w/ Scent Sparkles.

Not to long after catching my 2nd fish of the day I got some terrible news from my Dad about a very close family friend passing away earlier that morning. I headed back in to regain my composure and most likely head home when I ran in to my good ol' friend's VinePatrol and Killa.

Right before I came in Killa had given this family a bottle of Bite-On who weren't catching any fish. Not 5 minutes after the kid cast out he was fighting his 1st fish of the day. Boy where those 2 kids happy and very polite and couldn't stop thanking Killa for helping them out.

I will most likely be fishing all 3 days of the MLK derby this weekend at the Vine. If you see me in my 12ft camo coloured boat stop by and say hi. Hope to see ya'll there!!!

Yes indeed it was nice to see those kids all happy... i remember those days.... Sorry about your lose once again... It was a alright day for me too on the tube that day....

Sorry to hear about your friend TaperSteve.
Congrats on the fish.Nice pics.Okay now I will have to get some of that Bites on. I was a doubter about if it works or not,but since you posted some pics with some fish caught with it,it must work. Do they sell it there at the tackle shop?

Sorry about the loss of your friend.It was goood to see you out there me and my 2 buddies ended up with 9 trout not to bad connsiidering the water is still pretty dirty.I may fish the MLK tourney also.peace. :HOMETOWN: AKA Mark

Thanks for the reports Steve, can always count on you for an update....crazy how much the lake has risen, I recall sitting right next to the "Vine Assist Condo" out there on the West Shore with plenty of shore space.

Sorry to hear about your loss, that picture was a nice dedication brotha.

See you out there this weekend. Not sure if I am going to be able to fish much, but hope to see you guys at the scales with a few of those whoppers that are going in!
