Well its been awhile since I've got my lines wet, and today worked out fine!
I finished up some of my work and called a up a friend Johnny to see if he was free around Noontime. I was originally going to fish with CB but he had family to attend to. After we ok'd the info we were on the meet time.
Got to the lake at 11:45 and saw Jimmy and the boys at the tackle shop...Jimmy has a new game that he and the coworkers are doing..something about losing weight..wow, jimmys irvine lake weight loss program he said..ok, but how could you stop eating the tasty breakfast burritos! mmmm...
ne ways...WE got on the water by 12, and went for the afternoon session. The water levels are great, and there will be outstanding fishing for the months to come! I started the troll, picked out some colors that i thought would work in the current conditions of the lake. Within the hour, we managed two hits, and one landed! I was able to get a couple hits on a Rapala Jointed lure, while Johnny got hit on his setup-
After checking out all the new "terrain" fishing spots, i kinda got on a little run...with forgetting my portable fishfinder, the new levels were somewhat easy to figure out since the 14'+ vertical gain covered alot of the growth/trees around the lake. I got on a pattern of fish, we found the Steelhead, and rainbows, and all of a sudden johnnys rod goes bent in half...in the middle of the lake!..well the ones landed were all weighing solid 2-3.5lbs. We caught 7 in 4.5 hours, and got tagged just as many.
The fishing terrain is a challenge to ALL, but worth the fun in the end!
NEW LAKE LEVELS, NEW FISHING
We trolled ALL DAY...thanks Johnny for being game~
