Girl Power! Nachofish S.W.A.T.s the guys.....and they liked it!

It's Friday afternoon and I'm about to start my weekend and I start wondering what I'm going to do since I have a RARE weekend all to myself. Get nails done? Go to the mall? NO.....call a couple of Team 57 friends, grab my fishing gear and head to the beach! 5BassReaper7 had been wanting to get back out to the surf to try his luck again so I called and invited him. I also called Gavin310. We met up just before 6:00 am and headed to our 1st spot.

Working off our breakfast as we hike down to the beach. Later I was going to realize it's more fun going down than it is coming up! :Sad:

We aren't there 20 minutes when we see 2 looming figures in the distance coming toward us. Great, they have fishing gear also and right away they look suspicious, like they are going to bully us out of our spot. As they came closer we realized it was part of the S.W.A.T crew and they are known for coming in and taking over! J/K guys.....I was so happy to see John (Klocked) and Ramiro (Saltman) down there with us. They inform us that Wingnut and Bones are on their way. :Cool:

For the past couple of months I've been trying to make my way into this illustrious S.W.A.T. group as the first female recruit. Today I was even more determined since the pressure was on and I was concentrating hard on the task at hand. Wingnut is fishing close by and giving me some pointers. All of a sudden the end of my pole goes down and my line is being pulled. I was so excited and looked right over at Wingnut. He sees my face and starts laughing like a lunatic. He's laughing so hard he falls on to the sand and can't control himself. He hooked my line with his LC and is pulling on it while watching me. I tried not to strangle him when I realize what he's doing. I'm then told that he likes to pull this little trick on people. Funny guy :Evil: I'm telling him a few choice words and he's still laughing. His Poseidon must have been listening because not two casts later my line gets pulled again. This time it's a fish. Wingnut starts jumping up and down yelling "you have a fish, hurry, bring him in"

Donna and I had an agreement. Catch a surf Halibut and punch your ticket into the S.W.A.T. Crew. For a month, your Lady S.W.A.T. gear has been in my car. Patiently waiting for the day that I can hand it off to my newest recruit. :Wink: I was telling the rest of the guys that get ready to welcome in the first female S.W.A.T. member... just watch, she IS GOING TO DO IT. Indeed you did it and I'm so glad that I was standing right next to you when it happened. :Cool: Never seen you so excited even though I was the one screaming like a little girl. :LOL: Coincidentally, you caught your first Halibut at the exact same beach that I caught my first ever surf Halibut four years ago. :!!!:

I'm sorry for playing that little trick on you just prior to your catch. But you should have seen the look on your face when I was tugging on your line with my LC... absolutely priceless! :Big Smile: But, I was punished for my mean streak and went without a single fish or so much as a strike for the rest of the day. :LOL:

You look like a seasoned surf fishing veteran in your new waders, even when you got knocked down by a rogue swell. :Wink: NO MORE fishing in jeans! :Wink: Be careful with that Shimano Sephia. Dana would freak if he knew you were using that reel in the surf. :Shocked:

Next goal... a legal Halibut! :Twisted:

Police: Man with gun on Playa del Rey jetty was drunk

A man with a gun found slumped over on a jetty in Playa del Rey on Tuesday afternoon was drunk, police said Wednesday.

At first, police did not know whether the man was dead or alive when he was spotted about 4:30 p.m. near Pacific Avenue and 62nd Street.

He did not respond to them.

Police closed off the area and called in SWAT officers to handle the call.

It turned out he was alive, but had been drinking heavily. He was taken to jail.

The waders work much more betterer. :Wink: I was so determined to do this on my own and prove something. But that just wasn't happening. It truly was much better being surrounded by friends/57/SWAT.
