Rock fish over?.....

I leave for my first sea trip next thursday and I was under the impression rock fish were the target but I keep reading the season is over? Sorry but Im a newb to saltwater so what does that mean?
Its a 4 day on the Big Game 90.

Rockfish season is closed in CA waters until 3/1/11. You're going to Mex so you'll be fine.
