I went to San Carlos sonora, and fished with my daughter Valerie and boyfriend and first timerJessie, he loved fishing and he is hooked, http://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo320/eddiefishtaco/chanoc1.jpg

the plan was to go to the Island
(san pedro) but we saw activity near a point ( san antonio) and started fishing right there, http://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo320/eddiefishtaco/thespottetacakwiepeak.jpg

the first yellow came vertical jiggin, similar to yoyo jiggin, but a different jig and pace,http://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo320/eddiefishtaco/eddieyellow2.jpg

others came on rapala as the fish moved away from the boat and we could not get close, nothing on the surface jig http://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo320/eddiefishtaco/Valandjessiedouble.jpg

the water temp was 65.2 perfect for yellowtail http://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo320/eddiefishtaco/temp.jpg

I ended up with 4 yellowtail, the last time I fished for yellows also got four,
it feels like I am playing poker and my hand is 4 jacks.. laturrr

nice job man...very nice job!

I would assume since you were vertical jigging, you were fishing the butterfly "type" jig??? or can you do it with a reg yoyo iron??

I used a "butterfly" type jig, similar to a benthos 150 gram, on a torium 16 braided line and 40 pound top shot
my daughter nailed one with a salas 6 x jr on the yo-yo
and Jessie on a Tady 4/0 fast reeling it we also nailed a few trolling on big rapalas in blue and silver
as the fish moved away from the boat and did not wanna get close anymore..

Those Yellows look mighty familiar. I'm headind back to Tortuga and San Marcos in June and just can't wait to deal a few blows to those yellows. Thanks for the report.

Thanks for the recipe, I'll try that right now.LOL
drinking Moster may help catch fish since gets you up and wired
I noticed that when people is upbeat, catches more fish
than when they worry too much about lures ,lines, tackle
