Got a chance to fish LNL yesterday with some friends. No one wanted to get up early so we didn't get there until 9:30am. The place looked empty when we pulled up. The shoreline to the right of the office only had two people fishing at the point. That was all good with me because I didn't have much expectation for this trip. Just wanted to relax. We got our passes and set up to the right of the tree. That's when I noticed all the people were fishing down the flat/boat ramp area. More room for us I thought.
Shoreline was still muddy in some part. Water still murky from all the rain. As we were setting up two staffers drove up and asked if we wanted a bench. They have been retrieving all the benches that got washed into the lake. I commented that the bench was really muddy. To my surprised the response was 'You're lucky you're getting a bench'. Nice.
The bite was really slow as expected. No one really caught any. Around 11 there was a flurry at the flats and I was starting to think maybe we should move. The people fishing near us moved and we were all alone in this area now. Decided to stick it out and our group caught 3 all day. The fishing could've been better, but it was a beautiful day nonetheless.
