A buddy and I camped camped/fished Cachuma up in SB last week... It was cold and rainy BOTH days, but that's what they make foul weather gear for ... we trolled all day Monday for 4 Rainbows ... longlined needlefish and Lil Cleos .... On Tuesday we tried deep cranking (the new 6XDs from Strike King) and 10"-worming points and off-shore structure for NO BASS !

Ended up getting a 4.5lb kitty on a Grape Manns Jelly Worm...

Anyone going there soon? Ask the dude @ the launch ramp RV (the old guy with the white beard) for pointers ... he was VERY kind and dead-on with trolling points!

The pics include the drive up to the Lake, the biggest Rainbow, and the nice kitty. (He swam around in my front yard "pond" for a day before he became dinner.) Last one is some beach fishing we did off the SB cliffs .... I threw the L.C. about 50-75 casts for nada!

A Mann's Jelly Worm? Wow, you're definitely old school. I've caught a lot of DD hog bass on Mann's Jelly Worms in the past, but haven't used them for years. Good job.

BigBass: those Mann's are my FAVE deep off-shore plastics .... big ol' 5/0 ewg hook with a 1/4oz bullet .... I fish it like a jigging spoon :)
