Real quick report: Went to Prado and found that both roads to enter were closed. Called the number and they told me it will be closed until the 28th depending on the storm...
So, made a beeline for Guasti for a few hours...set up in the south center of lake with PB on one and Nightcrawler on other. My buddy w/ me set up similar a few yards away.
No bites for either of us, but....
I see a pretty good size bow swimming in a spiral pattern very close to shore. I tell my buddy, "This one is drunk or really stupid".
I take out a mini jig and dangle it right in front of him and nothing...doesn't take it, and doesn't get spooked.
I tell my buddy, "I think I can grab this guy!”. He must have been really close to death so I reach down to touch him...he doesn't swim away and I pick him up and snap a quick photo.
I see that he has some serious injuries, probably escaped a cormorant attack. I know that this fish is doomed but try my best to revive him. He swam away, so I hope he made it.
