Jigslinger

I was dying to fish after all the rain we've had. Wanted to hit LNL but heard that the storm did quite a number on my favorite trout pond. So looked around for an alternative. SARL was the only logical choice as everywhere else was affected by the rain. SARL is truly my nemesis and I have not been there since 1999. The only fish I've ever caught there was a CARP! So I chatted up a couple guys for info on how to catch fish there.
My friends and I got to the lake at 5:30am and there were about 60 cars in line. Went straight to a spot giving by the resident experts and tried to set up. It was still dark and COLD so decided to wait for the sun because we didn't have lights. As soon as there were lights we setup rods with powermouse, nc/pb, and straight nc. I got bit on my new rod before all the baits were in the water. Quick fight with a couple runs on the 2lb line and a beautiful Sierra Bow came up. Maybe a little less than 2lb but full colors and full tail. I thought this was great! Another 20min goes by and my friend's rod gets hit big. He grabbed it and it's fishon! A few runs and another beautiful 'bow came up. This one was a solid 2lb. I thought it's not gonna be that bad after all. Wrong! That was it for the next 4 hrs. We tried everything. Then around 11:30am the same buddy got hit again. He grabbed the rod and it's a bigger fish. Took off. ZZZZZZZZZZ Snap! See ya! Missed opportunity on a lunker. That was it. Left at 2pm when the lake closed. Alot of people were skunked around us. Not sure where all the fish in the stocking vid went. LOL.
