Was planning on hitting the DVL to finally get that elusive DD Striper that had been avoiding more like the plague..until today that is. Set the alarm for "five bells", but heard what sounded like the world coming to an and out the bedroom window with the wind and rain. Decided to buckle down, get some more winks, and snuggle up with the dogs a few more hours. Slept an hour or so longer then I wanted to. Was greated by a "dog steamer" on the floor and nags by the wife, but mellowed rain and wind was visible and audible out the window so off to the DVL it was.
Could this be an omen of a bad day to come:

Approached the lake with excitement and vigor, glee, and happiness. Of course, all this came crashing to a halt when I got over the hill and saw the parking lot completely empty say a few staff cars huddled up in the corner. Oh no, the place had closed. Probably a good thing and completely justified. 45 mile an hour winds had hit the area and even during what felt mellow compared to earlier in the morning the lake was swelled up pretty good.
Oh well, thats a one day repreive for those Stripers. Heres me soon after I got home:
