I have a question also Do they really charge 15.00 to launch a float tube?

For some reason LNL no longer has it's own section. All the reports are in the " All other freshwater fishing reports"

this site is largely sponsered by fishinglakes and irvine i believe.... wonder if that had something to do with it.

I blame Real Fishing Failures.......

Yes, Mytyt-They really do charge $15.00 to Launch a Float Tube. I love the Lake and love Tubing there but the extra $15.00 Launch fee is really a kick in the nuts!!!

Money talks...Laguna walks. LNL > Corona, Santa Ana Mud Hole, and Irvine combined!

I totally agree with you-I just don't see how they justify charging $15.00 to Launch a Float Tube. Please explain to me how much that fancy Brand new ,Private, Cement, Float Tube's Only Launch area cost to build?.

Oh, nevermind-instead-they just partially submerged two picnic tables in The lake and used Caution Tape to rope off an area in the Mud. Give Me a Break

wast it only 5 bucks to launch last year? Way to much to charge 15. they should throw in an extra 5 fish for that

The real float tube launch is down the way and is a concreate launch. works great. ill be the first to say that 15 is too much but there IS a proper launching site.

I'm very familiar with the original float tube launch. The problem there is, that it's a favorite spot for shore anglers and it becomes a hassle for everyone to get in and out of the water sometimes.

I'm just saying when they decided to raise the price of launching a Tube -then why not build something safe and convenient to use?

If they are going to continue to use the OLD launch ramp-then why Charge additional Fees to use it?

Great Thread
Glad that I am not the only one offended by the overpriced launch fee
There must be another side to the story so I invite and request that lake manager Rick Mendoza reply to this thread. It is his gig and he really needs to address customer concerns.
I love fishing LNL. Most of the posts here indicate others do too
The objections have been set forth, I like comments by RAC
So Rick, What do you think ?

I didnt post this thread to bash LNL's prices. I only posted to find out what ahppened tot he forum page for them on this website. I personally dont mind the prices...the lake is nice, i have 25+ fish days there frequently, and the staff is grade "A". If you enjoy the lake, dont complain.

Sorry but 15 bucks to launch is grade-A BS.

I would NEVER pay that much. And LNL isn't even that great either. I would only pay that much if naked women assisted me in my launch, and let me cop a feel.

Great Post Smokehound--But they would have to be "HOT" Naked women-lol Then it might be worth it.

Youngfish- I will post whatever I want untill the Moderators take it down.

So you guys that float tube LNL, what do they do to know that you paid to launch a float tube? Does a lake employee check your receipt? Can you only launch in one spot? Do you have a different sticker (fishing pass) along with the original sticker that must be worn or put in visible sight?

It was $10.00 back in the day to launch a float tube. Some guys would launch to the right of the concession building while others used the cement ramp in the flats area. How do they watch everyone? I don't have a float tube but LNL looks like a lot of fun to float tube. The $15.00 float tube fee probably stems from a hike by the insurance company on his liability insurance.

different color sticker with different markings on it...they have 1 staff memeber assigned to watching a particular zone and checking stickers, marking off fish caught, etc.

Are you going to Charge Me $15.00 to listen to my anger issues?

I agree with you 100% ... the insurance issue is costly ... one drowned tuber will shut down the lake without adequate liability ins.

the lake is owned by the county and they didn't want float tubes on the lake because of the liability...they did agree to allow it with liability insurance..the $15 is to cover the insurance cost...no insurance no float tubes...

i dont see why yall keep complaining about prices and such.. LNL this LNL that..
if the economy is taking its toll on you.. then maybe you should save the money
and stop fishing pay lakes, find another hobby or fish somewhere else, maybe the
pier, its free.

LNL is a great place.. if you've been there you know it is. its a float tubers paradise.
if i remember correctly, price last year for tubing was 28 with parking pass. this year,
its about $ 33 bucks with parking pass. For someone like me that goes there about once a
week during trout season, i have yet to complain.. cause theres quality!

So if your mad and upset that you can afford to fish there, then its time fish the city parks,
its free fishing for trout although you will need a fishing license.
