There's less-than-ideal weather forecast for Saturday. Is the derby a "go" no regardless the conditions?
Thanks,

The tourney will go even with the rain.
Should be interesting if it rains hard enough to shut down the road to the flats.:Singing In Rain:

Masters qualifier. Supposed to be a lot of rain. This is trout time of the year, not tuna. It's just uncomfortable fishing in the rain, although it will make some great spots accessible to boats by clearing off the island.

eh I went fishing the first day of trout season (april) in NY when there was still snow on the ground and used to ice fish, a little rain is nothing hehehe.

after reading the "severe weather alerts" for the area I fully intend to. Looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun...wet fun but fun!

How does rain affect the trout bite?

How does rain affect the trout bite?
I'm hoping that the violent shaking of my rain-soaked, near-frozen hands and arms will add enough unique movement to my jigs that it will be off the chart.

I'm on the fence about going. Been itching to get back out there but the conditions are going to suck and I'm a bit low on $. THe upside is it'll probably be fairly empty for derby standards. I always rent a boat but given that I don't want to spend all that cash to go out alone and freeze anyone looking to split one?
