I need help in deciding a which Phenix rod would work best with a Shimano Saros 1000F. So far, I'm considering the Elixer series in a FX801-2, FX802-2, and a FX862-2. Any help would be appreciated.

It all depends on what you want to be doing with it. Are you tossing jigs/trout worms, metal, bait?

i like the 771-1. those seem to be to lenghty for me and i can cast just as far with a 7 footer then the guys next to me with eights haha.

That's funny. I have the exact model you mentioned. Phenix Mirage MF771-1. It's a sweet rod, but I'm just looking for an 8 foot rod since I bought a Saros 1000F on sale from Sport Chalet. Only $100, same price as a Symetre.

I have the FX801-2 and it is awesome!!! i have a Stradic 1000F C14 on it -Very nice Combo.

try a 8ft Black Rock, its that much nicer. I fished phenix for years. Plus they are made in AMERICA Blackrocktackle.com:Thumbs Up:

Any place local have them? I would love to check them out as i'm over Phenix....
