Vine Winter Bassin 12/07

Got to the lake with my partner around 615a and took advantage of 1/2 day wed...caught 14 bucketmouths from 1-4.8lbs. most caught using jigs and triple trout swimbaits. my buddy nailed 4.8lb on a 10 inch dark rainbow triple trout...he has the pics so i hope u can add it to the reply later. bass are on the chew. we fished sierra and west cove and by the point toward trout island. hope this helps...jigs in dark/purple or green with matching trailers worked well with 25lb Fluro leader due to losing a few fish on 12lb earlier in the morning so i only had the 25lb fluro leader for the trout baits which worked wonders today. My parter fished short leader to spectra (which i need to do--mono is costing me a small fortune) and really put the wood today. man i know bass reports are far and few during the winter months but boy they were hungry...oh before i head off to la la land, we worked the jigs erratically...sometimes they wanted a slow bump or a quick summer style hop...as for the triple trout...when we had spurts of wind my boy landed his 4.8 fishing paralled to the banks. all in all light load out on the lake...

Hubert you the man...man the swimbait bites on when the wind picks up but you really have to throw the big baits for awhile. i gave up while my partner stayed focused throwing his triple trout all day. Hubert hit me up and keep me posted on the bass bite. won't be able to make it until after xmas...tight lines and happy holidays Hubert
