lake piru freezing cold!!!!

woke up today with the air temp at 38 !!!
*** russ and i drove through the magic
mountain area it was 29 dam,,,, made
it on the water in search of some slab's,,

good day you guys with some new spots!!!
the fish are down deep and feeding on the
shad....water temp was 55 to 59 today,
we did get a nice 4.5 pound bass to that
russ caught,,,,

Awesome Mike! The cool (no pun intended-Ha!) thing about crappies is that if you can find them, it doesn't matter how cold the weather is. I have caught them at several lakes when it has been really cold, including Lake Henshaw in January when there was snow on the ground and an inch of frozen water in the bottom of the boat! But like I said...IF you can find them.

Nice ones. Cool report. I used to love fishing that lake. My PB Crappie came from that lake trolling for trout many moons ago. BLACK AND SILV RAPALA. Nice fish though man.

Thats a very nice stringer, I need to get back up there but the whaler trailer is being fixed(axle). Saturday looks like the day, either Piru or the vine...Are you anchoring on em, or using the troll motor? Way to Slay

oh man, might have to make it out there this weekend. we went a few weeks ago and got 2 dink bass. all our spots are dry!
