Catalina takes honors for the most bugs.
Too bad they don't tell how many cards are sold and #s where caught.

actually, you can figure the numbers per location, they have the total caught for all locations at the top, just use the percentages to figure it out, ie. 10,330 lobster kept at catalina for 08-09

Well with multi day permits available, all you have to do is stay off the dock
for 24 hrs to keep 2 limits apiece.I think these permits were origanlly meant
for longer distances(cortez-tanner banks).
I think this is why cat has this large % of kept bugs.
Eventually this abuse will cause the % to go down.

But what kind of chaps me is if you have filed a multi day permit
you are allowed more then 1 posseion limit in your home freeze.
But the guy that fishes a couple nights local can legally only
possess 1 limit.

Good point on the ' In Possession '

You should hear Jim Days theory on the Lobster and over fishing.
Something like hoopers hit less than 1% of Lobster habitat area.
There is no abuse and the lobster population is fine.

My nephew hit LB 2 nights ago for zero bugs.
His LB spots might get hit hard but the lobsters are always moving and re-stocking
structure areas.

I wish I had a quarter for everyone of Jim's theorys,
I could close my shop & retire.
Been playin this hoop game for about 17 years.
After the first few years of dialing it in-it wasn't a question of limits,
but how long to be done.usualy 45 min. to an hour to gear back in the
boat headed for the barn.
The internet craze hit the scene, things were okay for a couple years.
Then things starting getting a little scary.
Alot of clueless peeps not wanting to do there own homework
just coming out late & dropping gear on other guys gear.

Made it a little dangerous, still plenty of bounty, just a little scary
with the amatures.

This caused me to move out to deeper water away from the obvious breakwalls.
The catching was pretty good outhere actually epic, until they figured that out.

Now it got even scarier because they still didn't want to do there own homework.
They come out after dark & drop on your gear, usually downswell.
They don't realize when your fishin 65" you got 85" of rope out,
by the time you have pulled your gear you have drifted on top of their
downswell crap.
If everone would have a little more RESPECT for each other life would be safer.
Get out early catch your bait find your area (I know there are no secret spots
but if someones set up on one already go to your plan B ).
I'm not talking just bounty here,I'm talking no ropes in your props,
no weak lit bouys around you to worry about.
Hope everyone catchs quick limits, just think about these tips before you drop your gear.
