Managed to talk one of my buddies into joining me for an evening session at SARL. We were using Carolina rigs, one set up with a treble hook for just plain old power bait (just enough to cover the hook and make it float) and two set up with a worm hook for half a crawler, inflated, and some power bait on the end of the hook (usually garlic)... all of the above dipped in Bite-On garlic. We got a ton of bites early on, and fairly good ones too, not just taps, but we missed every single fish. Other than the fact that we suck at fishing, I have no idea why. I tried to make sure the hook points were just under the surface of the power bait... My only guess is I waited too long to set the hook, trying to give them time to really swallow it. By about 8:30 the bite completely died and we didn't get so much as a tap after that. Oh well, it was a nice night out.
