Had to go to Riverside to a supplier today so I decided to hit one spot on the way out there in the far east section of duct. This is the section that hardly ever gets any reports. I know there have to be stripers there so I did a quickie before heading to Riverside. I make a few casts with the yolo tickler and get bit once. Couldn't make it stick. At least I know there is something there. Cast out a few more times and get bit again but this time I am able to stick it. I land a chunky 20" striper. Take a quick pic and back it goes and darts off as soon as it touches the water. I keep casting and several cast later I get another bite but miss it. Keep working it for like 10 minutes and nothing. I switch from the tickler to a soft jerkbait. I am working the bottom and get a hook up. It feels strange as it is not fighting but there is pressure and pull from the current. I finally bring it up and as it nears the edge, I thought I hooked a body part. It looked like a severed leg with the sun partially in my eye. I slide it up the side and can tell it's a catfish with a severed head and tail. That sucker must have got too close to the pumping plant impellers and got chopped and floating down flow for me to snag. That is one of the weirdest things I have ever snagged.

Seal and M@M, this is for you far east guys. There are stripers there. M@M has gotten a couple of lunkers and here is my 20" smaller one. There has to be more. Well there is at least one that I let go. I was getting bit too. Go get 'em guys.

Haha thanks. All the DD's always cover my mug. This Bako fugitive that was lost was much easier to hold and shoot and exposed my mug too.

Yeah I was off a road off the 138 walking a bit in from a bridge. I wanted to stop at at least another spot but didn't have time left. Spent too much time at the first spot. Honestly, I was not expecting to hook up and get bit but I did, so I spent more time there than I wanted to and ran short on time to stop anywhere else. I guess you can call it a duct quickie? It has been a few days since I have gone out to fish so I got my fix.

Man you're on fire.

It takes quite a fisherman to get dead fish to bite. It didn't even have a head.
