Well decided it was time to hit Corona and check out the action for myself. Man what a great choice, got there around 6:15 to find no line guess they are letting people in at 5:30 now. I had planned to be on a boat but I realized my buddy had brought a bath tub I started to look for a spot on shore. The North side by the dam was a zoo so I setup shop on the south side. lots of room and some great guys (bob and willie) I had a line in the water around 7:00am after helping my buddy.
Now here is the highlight of my day. I managed my 1st fish in about 15min nice size around 2.5lbs. I bait back up cast out and go over to talk with my new friend bob and withing minute he says "hey you got a Hell of a bite!" I turn to see my 7ft. almost bent over touching the ground so I set the hook and began the 15 minute fight. Ok so I know I dragged out the battle but I was on 2lbs test and was having the time of my life. insane runs with line peeling off I didnt get a look at it for the 1st 5min and when I saw the big body it only made me want to take my time that much more. I had seen Bob lose 2 good fish back to back moments before so I was all drag. lol, so he finally came in and the Bob got him in the net and I was all smiles from then on. I caught my limit by 11 and so did my buddy who was fishing off his floating bath tub. lol, big fish went 5.2lbs on the scale 5 fish limit went 15.3lbs.
