morning revenge run

nothing spectacular but after losing the only striper i hooked up on last night i needed to bring something in so hit riverwalk this AM, had 2 hours to do my thing only needed 30 minutes.. starting from when i parked to when i left,, only seen one other person bring one in, took me 10 minutes to dial em in but then it switched to single rod action just cast and wait a few seconds fish on.. caught 5 and all but one swallowed the hook "even after upsizing the hook twice" so kept those 4 for sure and the one who didnt swallow it was ok size so kept it and headed home for a nap, didnt wanna kill more then i could keep... had to slay something might as well be easy stocked trout just down the road...

went over again this morning had 2 hoursto kill again,, couple guys in my usual spot so had to resort to throwing over weeds and dragging fish back through,, caught 9 total didnt aim to keep any since i kept a limit yesterday.. but the bigger ones kept swallowing the bigger treble i tied on... got 2 14 inchers and the rest close behind that

its tiny,, not much dialing in after a stock just watch for surface action and cast that area,, they pile up with a few scattered out, find the school and its too easy,, todays was fun i had to drag fish through nasty weeds,,, cheapo dshock diawa with 4 lb line is getting its abuse for sure... really suprised how much i like that combo.. more then my more pricey rigs for sure

you know what i had that set up before i still use the reel. in fact that was my hot reel last week 3 of my 5 fish were dragged in by that reel.

i never got to see how good the rod was after about my first or second trip with it and loaning it out for one of those trips to my buddies it got broke in my trunk. my not so little little tool box i keep in my trunk (a 260 piece craftsman set) in case of emergencies slid over and broke like 8inches of the tip of the rod.

but i got the combo for like $39 at turners and that was a mark down from like $69 the must of discontinued that line or something and that's why you got it for $15 they are just trying to get rid of the last of them.
