Steve and I hit up NPH Monday for afternoon session of spottie action. We were fishing the an outgoing 6ft tide swing. We arrived approx 1400 to gusty west/northwest winds creating a side wind to our fishing spots. As we arrived Steve said "we have fished in worse", which he was right about. Anyways, it was not wide open but we managed a few.

Steves 1st of the day.

I got this dink that I had to photo myself since Steve was a down the way.

We worked it pretty long and hard. I was ahead of Steve and I lived up to my skill of being a farmer and missed one it seemed in every lane I threw. It was a one shot day, if you did not get them on the first hit you lost!

Steve finally got what I believe he was after the whole time. 21 on the nose!

We made a few moves and were fishing in the dark and wind, it made for a more challenging time, but we still managed a few more.

We called it a night around 1830 and hit the road.

Thanks for the company Steve, been a long time!

The NPH Dynamic Duo back in action... it HAS been a long time and you guys still haven't lost the touch. Good to see! :Big Grin: Water temp. dropping fast... might be a rough weekend for fishing.

Eddie,

Great times on the water as always! There is always the battle to take the lead in the turf and the fish count but there is always respect to the spot we are at most of the time! It is always fun to join the spot and hit it shoulder to shoulder and both cast into those smallest of slots one long and one short and see what the outcome is!

Yes the bite was finicky today and had we been on top of our game there would have been more pics! We both caught our share of unintended targets such as docks, sailboat masts and hidden underwater treasures in the very much adverse conditions of wind and low water!

There is a lesson to be had for even the seasoned Harbor Veteran! The fish we caught were very reluctant to give up their spot to an extreme low tide condition! They were hanging in very close in water that most would take the quick retrieve and cast again! Work it all the way into shore folks!

The Flattie was caught in about 6" of water a pole length from my feet on the sand! Eddie was right next to me and I said to him, look at this I just got a bite on a little pancake! I lifted up the rod tip and then the explosion began in extremely shallow water right in front of us!

A couple more pics of Eddie's other fish as he was more than a one hit wonder today!

Man, it's been way too long. I've only fished maybe twice in the few months and I'm way overdue. Thanksgiving break coming up, I may just have to give some areas a shot. Great sesh guys.
