I camped out at Santee Lakes last weekend to be there for their Trout Opener. I think it was still a little too warm and most the of trout had lock jaw. I saw a lot of catfish caught and one six pound plus LMB. One kid walked by with a nice large trout to get weighed I’m guessing it was between 5 and 6 lbs. As I was driving out of the park Sunday I noticed people walking around with stringers of fish. I’m thinking Sunday on would be a good time to fish. Overall I always enjoy camping at Santee and the fishing can be pretty good. I plan to go back one weekend each month till March.
