What a day it ended up being. As you can tell I ended up finding my miracle ticket. I arrived at the lake around 6:30am. I was maybe the 20th car in line. I walked over to the gates and there was a small crowd of eager anglers waiting for the gates to open. I didn't have to wait long and Daniela comes walking up to welcome everyone to VIP Day and unlock the gates. I thanked her for all the hard work she has done over the week preparing for the trout opener. After I thanked her I walked up to the tackle shop to hit up the breakfast bar. They had alot of different muffins, and other pastries to choose from and some coffee and OJ. I wish I had remembered to take a pic of the beautiful breakfast layout. O-well.
After saying good morning to a few familiar faces I headed back out to my van because it was almost time. Once I got in the gate it didn't take long at all to get my boat launched. I planned on hitting the troll hard today so I soaked a couple of my favorite lures in some Bite-On Garlic overnite. Here is a pic of my lures just before I put them on my lines.

It wasn't long after I got my 2nd line in the water that one of my rods started dancing. Fish on!!! 1st fish of the day and only 5 minutes after leaving the dock. Wow!!! It ended up being my biggest fish of the day and weighed in at 6lbs 2oz. After that it didn't take long at all for me to catch my limit, probably less then 2 hours.

After I caught my limit I headed in to the tackle shop to purchase a 2nd limit pass. I asked Daniela if anyone else has bought a 2nd limit pass yet today and she said I was the 2nd. Darn I missed it by 1. After that I headed back out and the action didn't let up. I could hardly get my lines in the water and I kept getting hit. I even had a few occasions where I got hit while letting my line out. I was able to catch my 2nd limit just before it was time to head in for lunch.
As I walked up to the picnic table area all I saw was hungry faces and the Vine staff hard at work at the grill. They had everything set up beautifully and I just couldn't wait to dig in to one of those steaks! Here is a pic of the food I chose.

It was great hanging out and eating good food but that wasn't all, they still had some items to raffle off. Here is a pic of Daniela and Kewly working the crowd.

The total weight of my 2 fish limit ended up being just over 32lbs! It's kinda hard for me to take pics while fishing by myself so I asked a friend to snap this photo before I took all my fish up to the scales to weigh-in.

Fishing out there was incredible today! Anyone planning on going this weekend you are in for a real treat. I already can't wait for next years VIP Day and I can't wait till next Saturday when I can fish the Vine again.
