Well folks those of you coming out to fish this weekend are in for a tremondous fishing outing! Today was VIP day at the lake with all of the vendors, select local tackle shop, past Masters Champions, and of course the paid VIP's for the day enjoying what was arguably WFO fishing. From the get go the bite was insane.
I finally got a chance to walk the shoreline and take a boat ride at around 10:00am and was only out for one hour and took all these photos below.
The fish where biting anything and everything. For dough baits it really did not matter but the new Salmon Egg Red Natural Powerbait was getting bit pretty consistant. Trollers did well on CD03-and CD05 Rapalas and of coarse the SC Shiners produced as well.
You guys are probably saying enough of the talk we want the pictures!!!! Well here you go.

Dave Wenziel of Utah, west coast sales manager of Berkley, flew in just to fish this day. And what a day of fishing he had! This five fish limit went 31 lbs!!!!! And they broke off a fish that was easily over the 10lb mark.

Taper Steve bagged this 10 fish double limit while trolling various lures. His double limit went 31.5 lbs!!!!!!!!

I look foward to seeing everybody this weekend. The fishing should get better and better with the fish getting more use to there surrondings. And to top it off we have a small low pressure set to move through on Sunday night into Monday that should put these fish into overdrive..

Great to see the THICK limits of fish from many of the VIP anglers- Many 2nd and 3rd limit passes were purchased today!

When I went on first patrol, saw many trollers and baiters with many sizeable fish on stringers, and knew it was gona be on fire. I picked up Jimmy and Steve Carson to show some of the fisherman/locals that were doing their FAT trout stringers on the get go- From Berkley Pro Staff, to novice troller beginners...it was evident it was one of the best VIP days we've witnessed in years...At lunch/end of the day we saw many BIG/FULL stringers, and smiling faces!

fyi- during this 2010/2011 trout season...if you guys are out and see the Patrol and need 2nd/3rd limit passes, just notify or wave us down. We will be carrying some 2nd/3rd limit passes so we can help you out, and save a trip back to the tackle shop!

First and most important Team Trolltoon would like to thank the Irvine Lake Staff for a wonderful day of fishing! I know it was a lot of hard work preparing for the V.I.P. Day Event and I must say that like usual your hard work paid off........The day was a Great success!

Trolly and I started our day getting to the lake at around 6:30am, getting in line and immediately getting to see some old friends and a few Team 57 members. It was cool to be greeted by The "Majic Man" Mitz and a little later FISHINMOFO. As we were let through the gate it was also a pleasure to be greeted by Daniella and Melanie who wished us luck as we headed to the tackle shop where we saw our friend and one of Irvine Lakes hardest working employees, Jimmy Getty. I also spoke with Marlon Meade and had the pleasure of meeting his father, Curtis Meade. Curtis it was a pleasure to meet you.
I also made it a point to introduce myself to Dave Noyes and I thanked him for the Memorial tournament Irvine Lake held in honor of our My Dear friend Dana "Fisherman 57" Rea and for the plaque with Danas name that is located right near the tackle shop and the Tree Team 57 under the guidance of Bebop planted in memory of Dana. Dave it was a pleasure to finally get to meet you and once again, Thanks.
We also got to chat with Troutdog, Bebop and our friend Olfishergal. I know Team 57 was well represented and if I neglect to mention you please forgive me. The anticipation of some good trolling was on our minds all morning.

As for the fishing, well, when Trolly hooked up as soon as he let his line out and I got to see one of the healthiest trout I've seen at Irvine Lake I had a pretty good feeling about the days fishing. We weren't dissapointed either, the trolling was Epic! Trolly and I both limited out by the end of the day with every fish big and healthy. For those of you going to the lake this weekend you are going to be in for a good time. The fish brought down from Calaveras are healthy colorful hard fighting fish.

One limit of these beautiful fish was enough so we headed in around 11:30. We crossed paths with Brian from "Lip Rippers" who was tossing his spoons from the shore. If you haven't tried any of the Lip rippers products you should give them a try. It was good to see you Brian and thanks again for the gift!
There was no need to ask yourself if the day could get any better because The Irvine lake Staff put out a lunch spread that was awesome! We even had Dave Noyes as our chef who grilled up some of the best steaks one could chow down on.
After lunch Dave Noyes and Melanie made a few announcements and then Daniella ended the day by raffling of some really great prizes.

Once again from Team Trolltoon, Thank You Irvine Lake Staff. It was truly an awesome day at the Vine!:Thumbs Up::Thumbs Up:

INCREDIBLE day at Irvine Lake, this promises to be the best trout season in years...great quality on these fish and they LOVE the artificials. I used one crawler and one wad of powerbait all day. Plastics and hardware were on FIRE. I have quite a few pictures/411 to share and will post a report a little later today.

You need to get to Irvine Lake this weekend regardless of the crowds I don't think you will be disappointed

I seen someone posted that many people were over their limit. Judging by the number of large trout and the absence of regular stockers represented on the stringers, I'd have to guess almost everyone involved here was WAY over their limits. So some guys did buy 2nd or 3rd limit passes. Those were probably the guys catching 5 or 6 limits and culling their fish to the biggest ones.
I have trout fished for over 30 years and anyone who thinks these guys got all these big fish in just catching 5 fish is crazy. But I guess if you guys are crazy enough to pay $150 to trout fish and then buy 2nd limit passes, I guess you deserve to throw back a couple dozen fish.
Oh well, let the madness begin.....

hooks = troll at his finest!

What is it you have against the Vine? This is the 2nd thread now where you made it a point to spew your garbage accusations against the Vine and now other anglers who fish there. I was out there trolling by myself for all of about 3-4 hours. What do you think i'm Superman or something? 5-6 limits + culling in that short of time, come on now. My fish are on my stringer in the order I caught them. Look at my 1st photo compared to the 2nd. Can't you tell detective?

LOL!!!

Oh well, let the madness begin...... Like tapersteve said, what's ur deal?????? Obviously ur not on the vine Xmas card list...... There are no small fish on peoples stringers because they didn't stock small fish. What you see is what there is!!!! I don't know where you "hear" your info but you might want to find a new source.
