Took the day off and capitalized on the half off boat rentals. Ended up solo since my friends decided work was more important... Hit up the east dam first, caught a few LMBs, but got crowded on. Headed over to the south side toward Rawson cove, caught a few more. Fish were blowing up on the east side of the inlet to the cove. Stuck there for a few till i got crowded out by "boil chasers". What is it with people? Its a big *** lake and your 10 feet from my boat? Jeez... Anyway, found a nice quiet spot on the north west side in a cove and fished there the rest of the day. Followed the birds herding the shad balls around the cove for almost 2 hours picking off fish left and right.

Day was HOT with no breeze. Fished the whole day on small plastics with little or no weight just below the water line. Ended the day with 17 LMB's, 6 stripers, and of course the lake record that got away.:Rolls Eyes: 7lb stiper was best fish of the day, but all the fish were solid, all CNR. Just a few cell phone pics i can post if anyone is interested. Highlight of the day was watching the newbie go full throttle into the marina in a rental weaving through everybody and watching the dock guys go crazy on him! Hilarious...
till next time..

Nice work on the feesh! By what's CNR?
Catch and release. Which by the way... before i catch some crap about throwing the stripers back, my freezer is full from the last 3 trips, and my standpoint is, if you dont want em, dont kill em.

That's good that you keep only what you need.

Thanks for the report..There appears to be very little boating Etiquette on lakes.

On Lakes?
It's everywhere. People in general suck and are rude. This is a case of too many "rats" in the cage. The me,me,me generation of instant gratifcation no matter who it offends.

At least you caught quite a few fish, I'd take a day like that anytime.

what makes me mad the most is that people always fish that the first rock cove to the left of the boat dock. there is too much pressure for the shore fisherman. we only have a limited shoreline to fish and people will huck baits all the way to the shore line where i am fishing. it is so rude and inconsiderate. they have the whole entire damn lake and they choose to chuck baits right where i am fishing from the shore. so irritating

Seems that when you are on the boat you want to fish close to shore and when on shore you want to fish further out? why is that?

isnt that cove off limits to shore fisherman, I have heard of people getting kicked out of there from shore, is someone knows for sure please reply, I have wanted to try that cove many times but was unsure.

Took the day off and capitalized on the half off boat rentals.

Do they have half off boat rentals on certain days of the week? How much did the rental cost with gas?

Wednesday is the 50% off day. the gas is included, I had a deluxe and it was $60 full day + $100 deposit you get back at the end of the day.

I went out yesterday 11/5, lake was a ghost town no boils what so ever, the bait was everywhere pushed up shallow in the coves but no fish to be seen. I still picked up a few fish deep but it was a struggle to get them. Hopefully it was just yesterday that was slow and these fish come back up for the weekend.

you are allowed to fish that rock cove but only past where the "big rocks". i was fishing in there and one of the sheriffs told me to scoot over a little bit to the left.
