I haven’t had a chance to report on last weekend until now…
I launched my kayak out of the Coast Guard Station around 7:00. Tide was just coming off a 4’ high to a 2’ foot low. Not much water movement. Weather was low to mid sixties and overcast, some drizzle.
I have been wanting to target halibut outside of the bays and harbors more so bounce-balled along the jetty and then out into around the south. I covered a lot of water, but only ended up with a single lizard fish.
I stopped on the way in and fished a few docks, picked up one 10” type on Spotted Bass a grub. I loaded up around 11:00. I had a phone call on the way home and found out I didn’t have to help a friend after all so I re-launched farther on the bay.
I landed a solid one right away at 11:40 on a jig.

Then two more close together around 1:00, one on a spinnerbait:

I finally had to be home for real so I left around 2:30.
Fish seemed inactive, had a few short/missed bites and the pick-ups were light.
