Check out the Classified at Bloody Decks, seems to be a lot of tackle boxes and bags etc there all the time...

I have a bag and keep all my stuff in 3600 or 3700 boxes and interchange them as needed. I have a smal bag I keep my hooks and some small weights in. I have one small box where I keep my dropshot weights in.

There's no simple answer. If you're just getting started, you could always spend a few bucks on the individual storage boxes and throw them in your backpack.

This will hold most all your trout fishing tackle, including lures, plastics, jigs, hooks, lead, swivels, and anything else you want in your arsenal. Obviously, if you use dough bait, that can simply go in the backpack, along with pliers, stringer, knife, extra spools, etc...

Here's some more to look at.

My main problem with tackle boxes for my smaller hooks and swivels is there's never a complete seal, so hooks always get lodged into between the lid and the compartment walls and lots of times even make their way into other compartments. I need to find some good high quality tackle boxes that won't spill over.

I know exactly what you're talking about and it's frustrating. There are some boxes that don't have that problem. I have two that I take on my tube. They are old Plano (blue and grey) double sided boxes. I just searched the Plano website and don't think they make them anymore.

There is a company that makes a box that seals tight to prevent your hooks from mixing. I have a box, but can't remember the name of the manufacturer.

I've got tackle bags to put plano boxes in and I seriously use a 5 gallon bucket for much of my trolling gear.

What I have found that works for storing my small hooks is them plastic weekly pill boxes. I get the med. size ones at Wallmart and I put all my different size and different brands in the compartments. They seal up great . You can either put them in your box or bag or have them on your person if your traveling light .

I have enough tackle to do just about anything or go anywhere (which is what I do)....

The above will fit most every fishing trip I do (so far anyway)....

Look in a fabric store, they have some great plastic boxes for tiny sewing items and individual covers for each compartment and curved bottoms for ease of getting small parts out.

Nessie Hunter, that's a pretty sweet setup you got. I like that storage shelf for your reels and other stuff. I gotta look into something like that. Where did you get the rod holders?

Just this year I graduated from the old Plano to something better. I got a large box that had a top compartment big enough to store bags of worms and other creature type baits. Below it has 3 removeable slide-out boxes. With their lids shut the stuff inside them stays put. I really like the organization and neatness. Of course I'm now starting to collect even more of the trays and stuffing them throughout the boat. Swimbaits here, crank baits there....... adds up.

I got that storage shelf unit at Costco...
The rod racks are from Turners, they go on sale now & then for $15...
Each one holds 16 Rods....
Mine are folded and free standing, they also open up and sit flat 16 across...

Whatever you decide on, always keep it simple. Example back when I used to tournament bass fish, I used to bring everything aboard all my bags and container full of stuff. What that showed was I got disorganized and not confident in my fishing skills. Then One day I literally took a few bags of plastics a couple of spinnerbaits, only about 4 rods instead of 6-8, and some weight and hooks and started noticing my catching percentages went up. Dramatically! So just saying, only take what you are going to use, not your whole collection of gear!

Good luck and hope this helps!

I use these for my terminal tackle when I wanna go light. On the boat I have one dedicated to just dropshot tackle. They're japanese made and only cost around $3. Made by Folca...

Just make sure the boxes are worm proof.

Or else you'll ruin your entire plastic collection if not.

i use a $20 walmart back pack with plano 5-9 tackle boxes for terminal stuff like hooks, weights, swivels, small lures. Use a worm binder for your worms, i also use a double sided plano box for my trout stuff, i got one side loaded with worms and mini jigs and the other side has smaller compartments where i put my hooks, weights, swivels, beads, jigheads, and small lures.

WHY IS THAT POOR FLY ROD STILL IN IT'S BOX?!?!?! (You'll never meet bigfoot that way.)

I gotta agree with Nessie on the rest... Tackle boxes. One central closet and lot's of boxes and bags.

If I showed you guys my highly classified tackle chamber I'd have to kill you to delete the evidence.

The ONLY thing I don't have is the Okuma rod racks and a home made reel.
