Went up today for a couple hours than I was going to put the boat away, Talked to Eddie when he texted from the water said he was looking around for bait I suggested a couple of places to look so when I got up there I followed my advise and found a good amount of these micro shad with some nicer models mixed in, one i made the bait, the fish started to bust on the bait I displaced from inside the cove, so I pinned on one of the better ones and got this action started, with the smaller ones I just pinned two on, super fun bite, I had a couple fresh dead of the bigger ones I made up at Pyramid and put one on and just gave it a little action with the rod tip and they bit as well, the fish started to get bigger as time went on, this bigger model bit and right away I new it was a pig, I hadn't retied so I backed off the drag and started to pull line off the reel as it made a few drag burning runs, worked it, got my net out, slid in the net and wanted a good pic with it, I put it in the live well and had a Lifeguard take the IPhone Pic for me, came out good, THX young lifeguard guy...
I didn't put it on a scale, it was 23 inches, I'd best guess it went around 6.5 or 7... fun couple of hours, the fresh dead worked good, Once you can get the bite started don't toss your dead stuff cause it can get bit, O forgot I also got one striper that I gave to some guys coming in on a rental boat, Nice talking to you...
