Schoolies Striper Massacre with T/O Saturday 10/16/10

Got a call from Bob a couple of days ago saying that he's been killin' it at DVL and that I should come out with him soon. So I said, how about Saturday Bob? Bob says no problem, come on out! :Big Grin: This is only my second time fishing DVL. The last time was a couple of years ago at the Pimp Cane "Smackdown" tournament. :Cool: I remember that it was a beautiful lake and was looking forward to the return trip today.

We were hoping to run into some major Striper boils, but found very few, mostly LMB chasing shad close to the banks. Caught quite a few LMB throwing topwater and crankbaits with some Stripers mixed in. Most of the Stripers were caught on the troll. Kept two limits of Stripers and threw back at least another dozen or so. All schoolie sized, nothing bigger than 3-4 pounds. Oh well, at least I can restock Mom's freezer for her again. :Envious:

Bob, thanks again for inviting me to fish with you my friend. You never fail to deliver! Phuong's playhouse were full of victims today. My secret ordinance really works! :Twisted:
We'll plan a trip back up North sometime soon. :Wink:

Nice fish. My husband and I were in that cove drop shotting for LMB and watching you guys catch them right and left. We tried trolling our rigs too but didn't have any luck. I'm the one who asked you what you guys were using. We were actually using the same stuff but I guess you guys were in the perfect spot.

Looks like an awesome day on the water. What was the temperature on Saturday? I'm sure glad Mr. stripers still willing to hop in to Phoung's playhouse with the weather cooling off. Those 3-4 lbers sure do make damn good soup / fish tacos!

I've never been to DVL, but I may have to give uncle Bob a call now.
