View Full Version : S.W.A.T. Encore Performance. The Hunt for High Value Targets. Saturday 10/9

Plan A – S.W.A.T. Kayak assault. Status = Scrubbed
Plan B - Reconnaissance mission to South O.C. Status = Aborted.
Plan C - Pursue local “High Value” Targets. Status = Objective Completed. http://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/rulez/t2009.gif

Conditions: Clear morning, mild offshore wind, flat surf condition with 1-2 ft swells, Rapid ascent incoming 7 ft high tide, excellent water clarity, water temp. 62 degrees, little salad, light baitfish presence.

Location: North Malibu

Mission Duration: 6:15am – 11:00am.

Mike (Bones), Mike (Midgettosser) and myself hit the local surf for a morning session after our plan to launch a S.W.A.T. kayak armada fell through. We shift our focus to the O.C. surf, but our Point of Contact in the O.C. went M.I.A. at the last minute. http://elouai.com/images/yahoo/a02.gif No worries, I think everything worked out pretty good with Plan C. http://elouai.com/images/yahoo/03.gif

Mike and Mike… thanks for providing covering fire for me while I was under heavy enemy fire. What a rush, let’s do it again soon! http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/userpics/10001/smile.gif

Fish on everybody… peace! http://elouai.com/images/yahoo/14.gif

The peaceful tranquility is about to be interrupted by the sound of battle. :Twisted:http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/Wingnut32566/Wingnut4/Wingnut5/Wingnut%206/Wingnut%207/Picture001-24.jpg

We bummed rushed the enemy base camp at sunrise and unleash a deadly barrage of LC ordinance upon them. They didn’t know what hit them… http://www.horrordvds.com/vb3forum/images/smilies/evil.gif

This WSB was smaller than the one I caught last Saturday, but fought twice as hard! Took me 30 yards to my left, then 20 yards to my right. The experience was still fresh in my head from last weekend’s battle and I was ready and well prepared to handle the enemy Ghost. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-cool11.gif

So....I'm standing there enjoying my time in the waves when I hear this voice from way down the beach. I look over and see the infamous SWAT crew (Wingnut and Bones) yelling and waving. Barely said our hellos, and Arthur can't get his camera out fast enough to show me his treasures with Mike standing there shaking his head. You did it again! Congrats! I was so excited for you and JEALOUS! Thanks for letting us poach one of your secret spots.....someday Brennan and I will surprise you with one of our own amazing catches! Well, hopefully :Big Grin:

Let's have another 'corporate' dinner soon!

Mine sweeper is projected to enter enemy territory sometime early Am. Reconnaisance report many hidden forces in said black holes. Some new toys are tied to the armament. Could be Guatemala all over again. Remember, marines are always the first to attack.

Great job out there there today Arthur! I must admit I engraved a skunk stripe down my back this morning but I will overcome the Wingnut Show......LOL

I'm pretty sure that the SWAT commander is doing something slightly outside IGFA rules......MMMMMM....Maybe an electromagnatic WSB signal is being transmitted from his rolex down his carrot stick and out to the LC on the hunt.
Maybe WSB talk to each other and the 35" told the 32" that it was safe to attack his lure......
Awe........OK.....OK......It's KARMA!
When an individual gives so much and works so damn hard.........He is rewarded with success!

As always.....a definate good time just watching Arthur work his magic. Even though the WSB was the bonus fish I was impressed with his determination to catch that flattie in one spot. It was like he knew that there was one nice legal there and after countless casts in the same area.....She woke up and paid the price!

Tomorrow.....Hopefully....Redemption!

Arthur, once again you manage to stick a stellar fish from the surf. 2 WSB in two weekends is fantastic, and I doubt there are many others out there that can boast of the same feat. Congratulations my friend, you are truly a fantastic surf fisherman. Still mad at myself at turning down the invite, but that just means I am more motivated to redeem myself at a later date.

Mike, sorry to hear about your skunk. Thanks for taking the time yesterday evening to speak with me on the phone to discuss strategy for future missions. I can't wait to see some of your ideas in action, and have a feeling that they will produce some sick results.

Hope to hit the surf with both of you guys soon!

I totally agree Mike, hard earned and very well deserved.. You Did it again, amazing Arthur! Very well done my friend. A lot of the sand troopers out ther reading these reports might start to think this is easy to catch legal seabass and halibut from the shore. They have no idea the amount of relentless determination and hard work that involved in catching these fish in the surf..

Sorry I could'nt make the Yak mission happen for us this weekend guys. As you guys know I have been called to active duty by my commanding officer. I can't wait to get back out there. If you guys are up for it depending on the conditions I'm up for a weekday supprise yak attack. I have accumulated a lot of paid time off days and I need put them to use.

As for the Halibut, when we kept working down the beach, something keeps telling me to go back to that one trench. I had a weird feeling that we missed something there... so I just picked up and walked the other way. After like 50 casts to the exact same spot, I guess I annoyed the Flattie so much that it struck the LC out of anger. Whatever works! Good luck in the grey light session this week, go get yourself a big WSB will ya!

Are you ready for the Surf Event?

Just shaking my head in amazement, don't even know what to say. Go buy a lotto ticket Art. :Envious: You are beyond lucky, but we all know it's not all luck don't we? Too good, an awesome display of surf fishing dominance. What a treat to see the SWAT crew in action for the last few weeks. :Big Grin: Sorry you didn't make it to the party last night, i'll talk to you soon bro.
Thanks Binh, I can assure you that it was mostly luck... :Envious: Sorry that I missed the birthday party bro, I'll you and da boyz soon.

These reports just keep getting better and better! For a moment I pictured all you SWAT guys in complete SWAT gear fishing. HA! Too funny!
We were thinking about bringing our AR15's with the grenade launchers to the surf, but decided not to. The enemy are already outgunned.

Wow, another BEAST, you really have them dialed in Arthur.
Mike, next time tell the Commander to give you an hour head start and clean the area out before he hit the sand. Those Sea Bass are lucky that they tangled with you and get to live. :Thumbs Up: As soon as I clear a few things off my plate from the business, I'll be joining the SWAT Crew out there.
Hey, I let Mike work those trenches thoroughly before I hit it Phuong.
Honestly, I came really close to keeping that last WSB, but didn't want to haul it around for hours until we leave. Now if I had caught it right before we decided to leave, it might have experienced a different fate.

What can i say that hasn't been said before .
Great job guys and keep at it, the SWAT Team has graduated to be the Commandos of the special forces.
Life is good and fishing is great... I can't complain.

WN,
Very, very nice SB yet again on another succesful outing. Back to back WSB, SWEET!!! Nice butt also,, I always enjoy yours and Mike's butt shots, :Envious::LOL:, heehee!

C/ya sooooon in the surf.

Hopefully, we will continue to give you more Butt shots NG. More than you can handle!
See ya in a couple of weeks! :Big Grin:

WOW another ghost u are dialed in congrats but I THINK YOUR RELEASING THEM SO U CAN CATCH THEM AT THE TOURNEY LOL:LOL::LOL:
That's the plan! :Secret: :Envious: But as the host, I'm not eligible to fish in my own event.
Maybe I can ask Wingnut Pug to make an exception.

I haven't seen a report this week from you with a legal Flattie yet VR... are you slacking off?!? Haha jk You've been on fire yourself, keep up the good work.

You didn't remember the report on 10/07/2010 did ya? You made a comment in my post too. It's just that you caught too many cool fishes you totally disregard mines .. lol. I will come back in 2 more weeks for another assalt .. just watch (I hope :D)
I did come back the next 2 days after that and caught a 20" on the first day, then a 21.5" the day after. No sight of the General though. I think he's in hiding and just sending out scouts. Hope he'll come out and play the next time.

Oh you Commander is so demanding
Yes Sir .. I'll be replacing all of my weapons with new Owner hooks the next time I charge into enemy territory. But next week for me is the 23rd because I can only go back to O.C. and fish once every 2 weeks. BTW, the enemy territory has been poached so heavily by unknown allies  especially on the weekends. I can only cast straight out, if I cast to the sides, i'll hook up to somebody else's lines. I think I better search for new battlefields lol.
