Bong, Khanh and I went hooping in Marina Del Rey last night. We planned to launch at 5 pm then got pushed out to 5:30 then finally launch a little after 6.
We went out to the breakwall. There were some guys set up on the end of the wall and some others down a little farther. We set up in the gap between them. Right after we set up we heard the Lifeguards running the guys on the end off, telling them they were too close to the harbor. They pulled up then came right over and set their hoops between ours. Then another boat came along and set up right there too. We had started pulling and were doing pretty good so we just put our pots back out between them after we pulled. I was driving and I'm still surprised that I didn't get any ropes.
We were back at the dock before 11pm. Some guys we met at the dock were telling us that the police descended on the ramp Saturday night, checked every body and gave out lots of tickets.

Here's our catch on the floor of the boat.

This is the big one for the night on top of a regular cooler.

This is the same one. You can see the fire under the boiling water behind me.
We had a good time and got in at a decent hour.
The tally was 9 lobster, 2 rock crab. We put better than 15 shorts back.
The Wives are Happy! What more can we ask?
This is a lobster Bong caught last Saturday.

They got limits of lobster that night and were back at the dock sooner.
