I had a cancelled meeting for the afternoon, so I took another one of those last minute quick trip out to the LBC. My friend also called me for a Friday dinner party. Told her I will bring some fish over and she can make an entree for one of the courses. There will be 12 guest, so a limit of rockfish will be awesome if I can pull it off. Tried to entice Martin to come, but to no avail. I guess solo trip. Besides, it was too nice of a day not to go out fishing. Check my tide calendar and there was minus tide and there was barely a moon last night. Plus, this is the only minus tide group for October. Usually the cod goes on the chew near the 150 when this happens from my past experience. Took along some nets just in case I wanted to try for some crabs and lobsters if I fished into the night. Forgot my phone when I was loading the boat, but I took some pictures when I got home. This is what I did to the LBC:

Basically this is what happened. 6 drops, I had 11 fish. 9 big fat Vermillions, 1 Bocacciao and 1 Lingcod. Less than an hour fishing. The only bad thing is I had to stop fishing. Bocacciao was donated to another PBer, who kept following me around.

The middle Red Snapper weighed in at 7 pounds according to my allsports bike scale. Which has +/- 0.006 error. So this gives you an idea of how big they were.

Went back in and pull my nets to my surprise, this is what I got! 2 Lobsters and 6 rock crabs! Must be the rain from yesterday to make them crawl in the daytime.

Here is better shot of the yellow rock crabs. They were pretty big.

Here is a picture of my friend. His name is Grilled Dinner. His friend Cajun Seasoned Lunch will be joining me tomorrow.

Thats it. A couple hours out and I came back in to beat traffic. There is 3 more days of a minus tide, so the cod should be still chewing in the LBC. The bass were also super thick all over Izors. Dont know what is going on out there, but they are everywhere. Good luck out there. Gotta go clean the boat, see you next time.

Nice catch!

So I think that you got lobster in the daytime. If so, that's new to me.
