heading over to catalina this saturday and wondered if anybody has tried the new shimano waxwing jigs? If so what colors, I was thinking squid,sardine and maybe mackerl. What do you guys think? What kind of fish hit these, barracuda,bonito, tuna and calico bass.

I have a couple and I did ok on the calico with the sardine. The water has changed so I dont know now. Good luck let me know how you did?

Had a slow day fishing, caught a few sheepshead and some small calicos and a few mackerl. All on live anchovies or frozen squid, no luck with the waxwings. Probaly my inexperience.

It happens bro, at least you came home with somthing in the bag. What boat were you on and how was the weather? let me know when you go out again and I'll try to get on as well.
