was going to do a cachuma run but it didn't happen
because of mother nature's influence....... so me and
cjshock hit up the lake.. it started out slow with chris
with a nice hold over full tail rainbow!!! went to a few
spots for nada until we hit the honeyhole!!!!!!
all slabs went wide open on the white and green!!

good day with cool peeps, fish were in about
80 feet of water about 30 feet down,,,,,

water at the lake is going down big time
with the narrows all dried up and the river
looks like a river, all the fish were in the
middle of the lake,all the coves are pretty
much dried out...............

Good job on mr:Trout and nice size slabs.
Its good to know people are catching fish in Piru,I havn't fish that lake for about 2 years

What a great report and pics....Awesome slabs too! U must have been very pleased with the trout too! Did ya get a weight on the trout? It looked nice and meaty.

I have great memories of Lake Piru.Caught lots of slabs and trout there back in the 80's..I think I did 80% of my fishing there as a kid. Now I gotta take my kid there one day as its been 20 years since I've been there.

like always buddy... just couldn't
make it up yesterday, the spots
we were fishing in the tourney
are all dried up with water coming
down the hill like a river, ah that
trout cj caught he said had red
meat.........

it must have weighed at least three pounds
or soooooooooooo, cj said it had good meat,,

piru's been a good lake to me with good
fishing all around get your peeps out be-
fore the big rains.....

Thanks again Mike for a great trip. Exfactor, I know they weren't redear but I cooked em for my sister in law and she thought it was the best fish she had eaten.

Chris, good job on the slabs.......I know what we are gonna cook on the next night trip, or maybe you are gonna show me your technique. Still maintain they taste like mashed potatoes.

Mashed potatoes. I like that, well I think its is time for some tri-tip or bbq ribs on the dock. If nothing else maybe some of those mice. I hear they go great in a taco.

Yeah the trout hit a 2 and 3/4 inch pearl tube jig. in 22 feet of water.

i fish big bear alot and ive always wanted to catch a trout on a crappie jig with no luck.. thanks for boosting my spirits
