Hello everyone,
I have been making hidden weight style spinnerbaits that have been my own little secret for the last year or so. Awesome on saltwater Bass and Halibut. I use high quality components like Mustad Ultra Point hooks, US made ball bearing swivels and lacquered blades. I do everything in my shop: pouring the lead, powdercoating and hand tying them with thread. The head and wraps are also coated with UV light reflecting epoxy and often times glitter. Quite a bit of care goes into these, I really can't take pictures to do them justice.
I brought these to the West Coast Custom Rod and Tackle show this weekend, sold a few and drew some compliments so I am offering a few of them for sale, just to see what others think of them.
Below are the color patterns I have ready for sale, I will also do custom order spinnerbaits. They are a hidden weight style, about half the weight in under the skirt so the 3/4 ounce has the size of a 3/8 ounce bait.
I have 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 and 1 ounce sizes available for $8 shipped or delivered to you.

Look really nice... But $8 is a heavy price, if you fish the harbor you know how often people lose gear !

Good luck, they look great and if I had some spare cash I'd be all over them ! :(

Hello Maz and thanks for the input. What would you think a fair price for a premium quality spinnerbait? It was tough for me to price them, I thought $8 was pretty fair since that includes shipping and sales tax. Minus tax and it is a $7.30 bait, and I figured another $1 at least to ship/deliver. I guess I could lower the price a little if someone really plans on using the bait. These things take me over an hour to make, not counting the time in the powdercoating oven.

$8 a spinnerbait is pretty fair. They look really nice, but do you test them before you sell them? Just wondering.

OG, thanks for your input also.
I do test/use the color patterns and of course the blade combinations I use. My in-laws have a 12' deep pool which has proven very valuable over the last couple years testing lures!
Most of my stuff is tuned to run "deeper" than an off-the-shelf spinnerbait because I target saltwater species that are deeper than the Largemouths that 99% of commercial spinnerbaits are designed for. I spend quite a bit of time tinkering around in the pool, so I can talk about the arm length and blade combinations and how they affect the bait for hours...

Oh no, it's definitely a fair price !

But that fair price is still expensive, like I said. If you fish the harbors you lose gear on pilings, docks, mooring lines... It's inevitable. Not as bad as losing a lucky craft though !

I'll send you a PM with some info I picked up from an SWBA guy about spinnerbaits in salt water.

Added note: if you buy one of my lures and catch fish with it, any photo sent to me will earn $5 credit towards more lures. A review or post on a message board is also worth $3.
I have been selling these to Largemouth Bass anglers in Arkansas for use on Table Rock Lake, and a few on this board but I would really like to get some more feedback.
