Day 2

Started off fishing Rock Creek Lake with fair action. 5 of us caught 15+ fish with my dad having the hot stick. He caught 8 fish including 3 brown (released) on n/c. I managed 2 on a water bobber/ power nymph set up. As the fishing got better the weather got nastier. In came the rain, wind, hail and finally lightning. At this time we went to Tom’s for lunch. After lunch we went to Lake George and immediately caught on n/c and pb. I picked up 4 on the bobber/nymph set up. Once again the weather chased us away and we went back to the condo and watch some college football. WTF SC!!!

Day 3
This is the day that made the whole trip. The 5 of us fished the Pokonobe side of Mary and the fishing was on fire. We were all nearing limits with 4 Alpers when a 250lb+ bear paid us a visit. My grandpa was saying something as I was unhooking my fish and when I looked up a bear was about 20 yards from us. I dropped the fish and we all walked up the hill and for the next 30 min we watched the bear take our baskets and stringers of fish and have breakfast. When the bear left we all went back to get our gear. As my grandpa was reeling in his pole he had a 4lb trout on the other end. As we got back to the truck we saw the bear near the shore and 2 girls walking towards the bear. It never surprises me how stupid people are. I told them there was a bear and instead of walking back to their car they walked within 10 feet of it to take pictures. We left so that we would not have a guilty concise if something were to happen. Cant react to what you don’t see. Went back to the cabin and watched my 49ers lose at the last second, again. After the game we headed to Convict and was greeted with rain and strong gusty winds. At this point I threw in the white flag on fishing.

When we were able to fish the bite was pretty good. The dfg put in some nice stockers, much better than in years past. My goal was to fish Bridgeport but was able to fish a new lake in George. The weather sucked. Not much fun in wet and windy conditions. The bear eating our fish is going to be a good story to tell. On a bright spot went to the casino Sunday night and I won $400. Sorry for no pics but it was wet and I was cold.

Nice going man. The weather up there goes from dry to wet, hot to cold in seconds. I was in Bishop over the weekend and one second you'll be sweating and hot, the next you'll be soaking wet and freezing.
