As the title states welcome to fall fishing at Irvine Lake. Traditonally most of the bigger catfish are taken during the month of October and I always here horror stories of the big one that got away during this month. So I came up with the nickname "rocktober" for getting rocked (broken off or hung up by a big one) for this month. I have had several conversations with a lot of regulars and they all agree October is the month to get the big ones. With that being said not one, not two, not even three, but five fish over the ten pound class of made their way up the scales in the past 24hrs!!! Welcome to "Rocktober" at the Vine!
Elaine Dickerhoof of Artesia has been in allmost every report I have typed this year or so it seems. Well Elaine made her way up to the scales last night with another beauty. Elaine has released ALL of here double digit fish this year and this fish was no different. Elaine brought in the fall fishing with this 18.4 Blue Catfish taken from the Flats on a Mac and Shrimp combo.

Don Diddion of Long Beach also took advantage of the fall conditions and put the steel to this 16.8 Blue. Don was also fishing the flats with Mac when the kitty bit.

Tommy Williams of Lynwood also found the big Blues to be in the flats. Tommy weighed in this 13.6 Blue while fishing Mac in the flats.

David Bordere of Irvine also managed to find the double D kitties. He found not only one but two of them! David found the trophy kitties biting back near the creek inlet in the flats. He stated "IT was WFO after 8:30! We got about 8 little guys and the two good ones in about an hrs time!"

If quality is not your thing and quanity is . We got that two!
Rusty Gygax of Los Angeles checks in with a double limit of catfish! That is 10 catfish everyone! He made his catch in the creek while fishin Mackral.

Dee Bartlett of Anaheim also found the quanity to be very nice! All of her fish where right around the 3lb mark. Very impressive average.

The bass fishing this summer and fall has been the best I, or pretty much anybody that ever fishes here regulary, has ever seen. There is so much potential with all the water and the bait etc. Got a chance to fish for a bit and found the action to be spectacular. Here is the only picture I got to turn out. The fish are all over the 3lb mark with the biggest going 5.1. All of these fish where caught Carolina rigging a Berkely Beast in 45ft of water over structure.

Hope to see everyone can get out here and cash in on the fall conditions.
