Pick up Jared`s book Fishin Trails, it gives lots of good info on walker and parker lake in the loop and a whole bunch of other lakes in the sierras you can hike to. Had planned on going to one of those lakes when I was just up there but the day we had set aside it was way too windy. Let us know if you check it out when you go.

walker lake is a private fishing club... has been for 30 years i think there is only like 20 members .. i have fished it since i was 12 and there is a road in some cabins and even a boat dock... however the road in has a gate about 2 miles from the lake you cannot pass thru... there is a dirt road to the top of the hill on the west side of the lake and a short very steep 1/2 mile hike down into the lake ... hreat fishing prettty much anywhere along that shore... PM me i can give you better details ... awesome lake
