Thinking of taking a friend who rarely gets to fish to Castaic Lake to fish from shore. She's only caught a couple fish in her life so I'd love for her to catch a striper. Are they biting from the shore at all right now?

I talked to a guy at Gallion's last Friday who caught 8 schoolies Thursday from the West Ramp on KPN Topwater Shad. He had 2 Topwater Shad in his box and was buying more.

It was a morning bite.

Nice. My friend would need to bait fish cause her casting isn't what it needs to be for lures. Any word on bait fishing? I'm definitely gonna go check out the topwater bite though...

If you can get live shad, fish them on a point on bottom or with a bobber.

I caught one and lost one in an hour and a half Tuesday using crawlers and sardines. Saw boils but had no lures. I was on the dam and will be back today...uh...now
