View Full Version : River report. 2 PB's! 12lb Carp 3.5lb SMB

Moderately good fishing this weekend. Grubs, Zoom fluke, top water frog, and flat lip crank bait's all working. Most fish coming right off of cover on the shore.

Nailed this carp on a crank bait if you can believe it. As soon as the lure hit the water I saw the flash and thought it was a massive SMB. I jerked the lure when it got close and snagged it on the upper lip. It was at least a 5 minute fight and was awesome. It's the biggest fresh water fish I have caught.

Another PB was my brothers 3.5lb SMB. It's a river record for us and I believe his biggest SMB.

The rest are pretty much the standard river smallies. Only took pics of the semi-worthy, but about 40 fish caught in 11 hours of fishing Sat and Sun.

that carp is a beast i bet that was an awesome fight.what pound test were you running?looks like fun.thanks for the report and pics

9lb mono on a 7 foot med rod. I might switch to carp fishing from now on!

Up the 95. About 30 minutes from Blythe.

Nice job might have to try that area some day usalley fish havasu topock. Any stripers in that area?

How do you get around on that boat? U really use all those poles?

No striper. Caught one once about 6 years ago.

We all know you can never have too many poles Sparky! ;-)
