We hit up this canal coming out of the Frient Kern Canal here in Porterville and cought lots of Blugill about hand size, a few little Bass, a few carp and BULLFROGS. It was a blast with the frogs and carp. I got 3 carp and 10 frogs yesterday and 2 carp and 5 frogs today. My son also cought 1 today. No pics of the frogs today.

Cool, But kind of nast of the frogs lol... It's just me you know. I heard lots of people talking about them being good. Maybe i'll try one sometime.

Man those frogs look great hope you deep fried them , not sure about the carps though great fight i bet .

Dude I love how strange US fishermen are. You'll eat frogs which I like also, but use carp for fertilizer. Carps are more native than most fish species in a Cali. CPR those guys please!

Dude I love how strange US fishermen are. You'll eat frogs which I like also, but use carp for fertilizer. Carps are more native than most fish species in a Cali. CPR those guys please!

I'm surprised that canal / slough is large enough to hold that many frogs... maybe it's bigger than the pix show. Anyway, congrats... "Doc Hopper's French Fried Frog Legs" could learn a thing or two from you guys.

Tastes like chicken!
We used catch bullfrogs on flies. We would dangle the fly in front of the frog. After it missed the fly a couple times with it's tongue, it would jump up and grab it in it's mouth. It was a lot of fun.

We went again this morning and got 2 more. We been using torpedos an jitter bugs casting them in front of them. It is fun.

It aint very big, but it has water year round and when the river is going it back washes into it.
