Is there a place around that area where i can buy bait to fish on the surf? We are planning to bbq, fish, later that night bonfire.

Fisherman's Hardware on Gothard above Warner ... Big Fish at PCH and Seal Beach Blvd ... Pacific Edge at Edinger and Bolsa Chica
My favorite is Big Fish, but I live 3 blocks from there.

Get some sandcrabs. All species will hit sandcrabs.
A small plastic colander and a small garden shovel is great for this.
you can chum by merely stepping in a sandcrab bed while the wave is receding-- that flushes them out to deeper water. If you twist your foot, you will dislodge even more.
Great live bait, free, too.
