Fishing was pretty good considering the amount of people on board. Well okay let's start.
3:30AM rolls on by and my Uncle is outside my house, early right? At least that was what I thought. We drove over to Alamitos Bay to arrive at 4:20 to have found that there was already 15 people waiting outside the sportfishing office. Those guys were hardcore and it's only a 3/4 day. Bought our tickets when the office opened to discover that a gentleman in front us had bought 31 tickets for his friends and co-workers! Geez good thing our tickets were free from the last trip.
Finally it's 5:30 and the boat is prepping for a day of fishing, but suddenly I spot some dark figure lingering around the jetty and guess what it was a big ### skunk, say 15lbs. As I saw that skunk I thought to myself would I be skunked for the day? I nearly answered that question when we were rockfishing. Seriously fished for 4 hours and only had small runts biting so no go on that. Several people got some toad 5lb reds and 6lb+ Bocs. All the rockfish were caught at the rigs.
Noon approaches now and the skipper sees that people were not getting as much fish as he'd like so off to Sculpin grounds. Here's where the fun began the bite was consistent for every stop the fish bit everything like they normally would. My set-up of choice was a Curado 300E with 65lb spectra 40lb topshot on a Phenix Black Diamond inshore assassin 10-25lb. The lure a 150g Lucanus. I would say I had quadruple limits of legal sculpin and at least another dozen short ones. All in all fishing was decent I avoided tangles for the most part by fishing at the front of the boat. Damn the stern was a mess.
The current today was terrible even 16oz sinkers were not good enough for rockfish. On a side note I did do some harbor fishing before and after we headed out. The fish in the harbor are not that aggressive normally I would have macs and cudas slamming kastmasters and jerkbaits with serious aggression. Anyways I caught the oh so popular LIZARDFISH, tomcod, YFC, Mac, and missed a cuda twice!
My quota: 40+ Sculpin, 6 tomcod, 4 YFCs, 2 LIZARDFISH, 1 Starry rockfish, 4 horse macs, and 1 Dab'.
My Uncle's: 40+ Sculpin, one 5lb red, 3 Dabs'.
Here's the landing's count.
64 anglers.
96 Bocaccio, 200 Sanddab, 41 Vermilion Rockfish, 190 California Scorpionfish, 210 Rockfish

I didn't take too many pics because I was busy fishing and plus we've all seen how lizards, macs, and rockfish look like.
Hopefully this is something worth posting!
