Is is possible to bump up drag capacity for Avet MX by replacing the drag with carbontex?
I'm fairly new at this. Any advise ?

Avets come with a carbontex, like Carbon fiber drag system...
No need to upgrade them....

Be careful if you tear it down, Avet will void the warranty on the drags if you grease them.
I love the Cals drag grease on all my reels...
Avet is the only Quality Reel make who still uses dry drag washers as far as I know...

Here is an Alan Tani thread on the Avet drags, notice the corrosion on the pictured washer????
YIKES ... Cals Grease prevents that...
