Ironman style Bass Tournament to be held Sept 25th!

I know all of you guys have been Pm'ing me, putting up threads, texting me, calling me and suggesting that the lake host another tournament. Well your voices have been heard. On September 25th the lake will be hosting a Ironman Style bass tournament. If you are not fimilar with an Ironman style event you go out and fish during the day for a five fish limit weigh those fish in and release them. Take a break for lunch and maybe a quick catnap. Relaunch and fish a secound shift for another five fish limit. The two weights from that day will be added together to determine the winner. This event is being held at Irvine Lake and being put on by Brian Linehan. Their is a post on www.WestrenBass.com where that link and his email can be found. Anybody wishing to fish this event can contact me and I will foward him the info.

The tournament will start at 6:30 am and we'll start weighing in at 11:30 am. 5 fish limit.

Barbecue immediately after weigh in.

Segment #2 of the "Ironman" will start around 1:30 pm and we'll start weighing in around 6:30 pm. 5 fish limit.

The cumulative weight for 10 fish will determine the winners.

It was important to keep the overall cost of the event low to appeal to the masses so we decided that the total including all lake and launch fees is $200. For those of you who want options, we'll be doing that separately at the lake. However, for $200, you are "all-in."

What was the results of the tournament??

We had 13 boats show up for the split weigh in tournament last Saturday. The bite was super slow and merely a shadow of what the bite was like one month ago. However, it was a good time and look for more similar events next year when I'm running the Anglers Choice Inland Empire and San Diego regions. Thanks to those that attended. (10 fish limit)
