Had a very enjoyable day fishing with Eddie, We didn't tear em up but worked on a few things and had some success,
Fished the drop shot after tossing the buzz bait for a while, picked up a few keepers, very nice, dead calm morning, only couple of boats out on the lake, the calender shows a time change for opening the lake, but got there around 6:15 and the gate was open, opening is 6:30.
Got back on the buzz bait, new deal for Eddie, got his first BB fish I told him it's like playing a slot machine once you get one you can;t stop because the next cast could be a gaint, I had a toad follow the bait in on a cast and it was big that alone keeps you throwing the bait.
Got a real nice crappy on the drop shot, so I keeping in form with the oddball fish on a bait meant for a bass.
We went back into the shallows and the water was gin clear, tons of bluegills, nice size bass, Eddie tied on a soft minnow bait and was playing around with the bass back there, he had a lot of interest but no taker.
The heat was starting up big time, talked to a few other guys out there today, most of them were pretty happy to share info, but not all...
Eddie and I decided to get the dip nets out after we saw a couple boats dipping, very tough dipping, mostly micro shad that would got right thru the net, we did manage about 25 pieces after about a hour. It really took team work to get the bait, I had Ed rolling all over that deck trying to keep his balance as I worked the trolling motor trying to keep us from getting buried in the grass and trying to follow the bait. Took the bait we caught out to the weed edge for nothing, so I went to my Lowrance unit and pulled up a spot I had a way point and went over there and got settled in, got started on catching some quality bass, Eddie got jackpot for the day with a nice 5.0 on the digital scale. I was stoked, he was all smiles, high fives all around. The bait ran down and it was getting late, I didn't want to get him in trouble with his wife.
So we called it a day, worked our way back to the dock, talked about our day, I was telling him many back in the day stories of experiences there, the water dog days, fishing crawdads, fun day, drove him back to his car, thanked him, Good dude, Thanks again Eddie, see you soon.

Thanks, BassnMan Mike, Crappie came out of 12 feet, it was a slug to, we were going to give it to Eddie's Father Inlaw, but made a quick call when we went to put our first dip of shad in the live well and Mr Crappy had to go we didn't want it to beat our bait to death thrashing around in the well.

Another great time out with Dave. Great tips, stories, and company as always. Thanks for the trip.

Definitely need some work on my dropshot but had fun catching those shad. Made us work them but paid off with that bigger fish.

Pm me when the bite gets hot. Count me in on another trip!

Thanks again
