My non-stop, action packed weekend...
Saturday - Fish with Bob (TroutOnly) at Lake San Antonio.
Sunday morning - Golf with Phuong (Blackwater) in Palm Desert.
Sunday evening - Hit the surf.

Drove 500 miles round trip to fish with Bob on Saturday at our new favorite Striper lake. Lake San Antonio is quite a long drive but worth it if you are after big Linesides. It's pretty much hit or miss at that lake at the moment. The last couple of trips we really had to work hard for the Stripers, but that's fishing. We will keep coming back for more!

Got home from around 1:00am Sunday morning only to head back out the door at 4:30am to meet Phuong in Palm Desert for a 6:30am tee time round of golf. Hustled Phuong out of $500.00, a free round of golf and lunch too! Phuong, when are you gonna learn not to bet with me... on ANYTHING! http://www.horrordvds.com/vb3forum/images/smilies/evil.gif

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/Wingnut32566/Wingnut4/Wingnut5/Wingnut%206/Picture031-9.jpg

Got back home around 4:00pm and decided to throw some surf gear into the car and head for a local spot. Been awhile since I been in the surf. Fished from 6:00pm until around 8:30pm when it was too dark to continue. Conditions was great and lots of action from a variety of species of fish. I was constantly hooking up to something the entire time I was there. Set my new record of multi-species day in the surf and only in a couple of hours.
No legal Flatties, but a very fun and productive outing.

Seven species: (New personal record)
Halibut, Calico Bass, Green Rockfish, Barred Surf Perch, Smoothhound Shark, Smelt, Yellow Fin Croaker.

Fish count:
(6) Short Halibut to 20 inches
(2) Calico Bass
(2) Green Rockfish
(2) Yellow Fin Croaker
(1) Smotthhound Shark
(1) Barred Surf Perch
(3) Smelt

Here are some fish porn...

Quite a weekend, Wingnut! Having lived in Palm Desert for 4 years, weren't you just a mite over-dressed for the heat? Of course, a 6:30 tee time dodges a lot of that.

That was one kick-*** fishing sequence, too--7 species on one partial day. Sounds like a weekend to tell the grandkids about, later in life.

Took off the under layer after the second hole. Shoulda worn shorts though... lol
Fast three hour round, done by 9:30ish, love the lack of pressure playing out there.

That was a short and fun surf session. But I would only brag about it to the grandkids if all of those short Flatties were legals! :Envious:

Tweeker??? Lame, feel free to stop commenting on Wingnut's thread, i'm sure it won't hurt his feelings one bit. lol

Art, even with only two hours worth of sleep, you manage to kick my butt in golf, again. Hey, i only lost by four strokes this time.
But it will soon be my turn when I relish in victory once that DD Striper school you on the Superman combo. I get to drive your pride and joy for a month. Make sure you take her out of the garage and have her waxed and ready for me. My wife is looking forward to it more than I am. There's a joke in here somewhere but i'm not going to touch it.

I can't believe you drove home from the desert and head straight to the surf, you're a madman. Thanks for keeping your promise to join my family on Sunday, eventhough I said you didn't have to. Madeline just loves her uncle Arthur.

Can't think of any other place else in the world where you could do all you did in one weekend. Up the coast to fish stripers, out to the desert to golf (some of the best courses in the world by the way) and back to the beach and catch all those fish on the old stand by LC.
Now if you had a small plane---------- I only wonder
Thanks for the great story.

My golf handicap went from a 10 to a 15 in less than a year Binh. That's what you get when you don't play on a regular basis... I'd rather spend whatever little time I have off fishing.

You are amazing Arthur. Glad to see you made your way back to the sand and as always it looks like you were on top of your game this weekend. Sorry Phoung at least you were close. I hope to fish with you soon (when you are ready) and that goes for Flynby, Bones, Blackwater, BSP, Red Killa as well. Your energy is the result of being very positive and giving it your all in all you do. Well done my friend..

Thanks brother Jerry, that would be a fun day... all the S.W.A.T. Crew on the water for a yak assault.

Can't think of any other place else in the world where you could do all you did in one weekend. Up the coast to fish stripers, out to the desert to golf (some of the best courses in the world by the way) and back to the beach and catch all those fish on the old stand by LC.
Now if you had a small plane---------- I only wonder
Thanks for the great story.

ps I always wanted to try to fish the ocean, the desert and the mountains in one day. Thought about skiing all three once also.
We are lucky to live here in Southern California, that's for sure. So much to do and endless entertainment options... now if only I can find the time to do them all... LOL

Thats so Epic I dont know where to start
