Went out on the flats yesterday ,Lots of boats cattle boats everywhere and many smaller pb's.We decided to hug a rig and so did 5 others haha it was tight .Calicos were the main catch with only a few sandies inbetween with macks all around .Funny thing my pal yells to me hey a yellowtail followed my swimbait up ..I couldnt believe it ..Well a min later I see a yellows all under the boat chasing up my lure ,I tried everything for them but they would just occasionaly follow the lures but no hits .It was glassy for the most part of the day .Even the guys on the rig grabbed poles and starting fishing haha .Before heading in we threw a few at the wall my pal pulled up a nice fat sandie ..that sucker was fighting hard then my pal yells dam its running and line starts flying out I was wondering what the hell was on there then a seal came up next to the boat with the big bass in his mouth I started to bang the net on the side of the boat and he got spooked and let the fish go and he took off .

Hi POSTAL,

Nice job !! Great report and pics! Atta boy!!

On the yellows ....... they love plastics ....... especially the smaller ones. On spooked or wary fishys! If they followed your lure, if you didn't use a six foot length of 8~20lb fluorocarbon test, you should have switched!!

Sometimes cranking really fast and or do a suspend then loooong fairly quick sweep of the rod will get a couple of them in competition for the rubber too.

Of course ...... if you were really near the rig and they were larger .... well ...... watcha gonna do!

Dang .... better luck next time on the yt.

Nice job, did the coast guard come and chase you off? My buddy was out there as well yesterday and got chased off in his Striper.
