Hit AV Duct last night….
Solo Mission !
SHAKE RATTLE N’ Roll’ !
What do I mean by that ? you’ll find out shortly..
1st spot……
About 30-40 casts into it….
Working HARD !
Sensing the lures action !
Feeling the roll of my retrieve !
Trying to visualize the strike !
Using my senses as my eyes…… as I run my index finger in front of the level wind on my Shimano Curado reel…
Slow roll, pop N’ hop !
The patented feel the steel Pop n’ stop !
Thunk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bendo !........
Drag peela’
.ahhhhhh…….YES !
I’m ON !
Hoookup !
After a nice lengthy battle and some nice drag runs…
He hits pavement….
Feel the steel ?
How about feel the Cement ?....in this case
Yes…yes yes ! and Daddy is bringin’ home da’ bacon

And here’s where the rattling comes in:
Man, my adrenaline gets pumping as I near a fresh new spot and I’m not a big fan of walking with my light as I don’t want to spook fish…
As I walk the Duct dirt road for a bit
My long stride plowing the dirt and gravel..
I hear something about 6-7 feet behind me…

I think I actually might have done a little dance myself as my adrenaline raced !
The thing about it is……..I must have nearly stepped on it by about 2’…maybe less !
Cause when I looked back he was right near my footpath coiled and really Pzzzzd’
That sucka’ didn’t rattle to warn me till I had already passed ‘em…
Scary…REAL scary when you think about it since I was walking in pitch black without my light ..
So, I’ll say this openly ….
BE CAREFULL OUT THERE PEOPLE !
Those Rattlers are out and about and it’s that time of season, they are gonna’ be a prominent thing as the heat continues…
Also I’ll note:
I happen to know that in the Castaic Area, there is ONLY ONE HOSPITAL that carries snakebite anti venom.
I do not know if that hospital right near the 14 frwy carries anti venom.
This is something I’ll need to find out and it is something anyone fishing out in the bush needs to know…..
You don’t want to rush to a hospital that does not have anti venom….
Know the facts…
I’ll be calling that hospital within the next couple days to see if they stock it…
