WENT UP THE HWY MONDAY TO WORK IN BISHOP ALL WEEK ,GOT DONE MONDAY AND WE DECIDED TO HEAD UP THE MOUNTAIN, STOPPED AT PARCHERS TO SEE SMITTY BUT EVAN WAS THERE HE WAS GETTING READY TO GO BACK PACKING WITH THE REST OF THE SMITH FAMILY. GOT TO THE LAKE TO SEE RYAN-RYGUY FROM THE NETWORK,GOT A BOAT AND HEADED FOR THE INLETS,SAW JEFF TROLLING GAVE HIM A WAVE. ME AND PATRICK GOT TO THE COVE ME AND RYAN HAD AGREED ON. DROPPED ANCHOR AND STARTED FISHING CRAWLER TAILS AND CRICKETS, WE HAD NON STOP ACTION ,OUR LUCK THERE WAS ONLY ONE BOAT THERE AND HE LAFT RIGHT AFTER WE ARRIVED APPARENTLY HE WAS POACHING AND DID NOT KNOW IT PAT TOLD HIM WHAT WAS UP AND HE FREAKED AND PULLED ANCHOR AND SPLIT I HOPE HE GOT CAUGHT AT THE RAMP. ANYWAY WE KEPT FISHING AND LAUGHING AND ENJOYING THE BEAUTY OF THE AREA, THEN OF COARSE MY LITTLE ROD GO'S MAJOR BENDO AND ALMOST GOES OUT OF THE BOAT,I PICKED UP THE ROD AND THIS FISH JUST JAMS STRAIGHT FROM THE SHORE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BOAT BENDING THE LITTLE RED ROD IJN HALF AND DRAG SCREAMING . I TOLD PATRICK TO CLEAR THE OTHER RODS IT WAS A BIG FISH AND IT WAS PISSED OFF, THE FISH MADE THREE LAPS AROUND THE BOAT AND MANY HIGH SPEED RUNS, I WAS LUCKY THE ANCHOR ROPES WERE STAIGHT DOWN UNDER THE BOAT, IF IT HAD GOT IN THE ROPES THE FOUR LB LINE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE SNAPPED.PAT FREAKED AT HOW BIG SHE WAS WHEN SHE FINALLY SLOWED DOWN AND HE GOT A GOOD LUCK AT HER,THEN SHE HIT THE NET AND WE GOT SOME PICKS SHE HAD TO DIE SHE WAS BLEEDING AND TOTALLY WORKED FROM THE FIGHT ,THE FILLETS WERW THE BRIGHTEST ORANGE YOU HAVE EVER SEEN. WE GOT OFF THE LAKE AND RYAN TOOK A PIC AT THE RAMP. AFTER WORK TUES WE WENT BACK UP TO FINMD THE LAKE COVERED IN BOATS RENTALS AND PRIVATE SO WE HIT A COUPLE SPOTS FOR SOME LITTLE TWO LBERS WE HAD ALOT OF ACTION BUT NO BIG FISH I THINK THERE WAS WAY TO MUCH NOISE AND SUCH FROM ALL THE BOATS , NORMALLY WHEN ITS QUITE I CATCH ALOT MORE UP THERE, THE LAKE IS AT FULL POOL RUNNING OVER THE OVERFLOW SPILLWAY AT THE DAM IF YOU EVER WANTED TO CATCH SOME NICE FISH AND ENJOY SOME BEAUTIFULL COUNTRY SOUTHLAKE AND PARCHERS IS IT,,,,,,,,,,,troutonly,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

GREAT report. Nice work on the feeshes, too.

VERY nice to see the lakes at full pool this year. A couple more rain/snow years like last winter, and the fishing will improve markedly throughout the Sierras. And elsewhere.

To Bob- Who's that celebrity in those sunglasses? Great story to go along with that beautiful holdover. That fish reminds me of the story you told me about that "football" that you lost at DVL by the corner of the east dam. That fish seems to have that dark coloration that you said which reminded me of that fish that you lost. It doesn't get any better fishing in the Sierras and catching unbelievable trout.
